Film Production Managment

This seems to be an area that isn't covered very often. I haven't found much on how a set is ran. Who does what and is in charge of whom? I know the AD usually plays a huge part in running the set. Director, DP, Writer, Actors, Gaffer, Grip are often subjects that get discussed, but managing the set I have found very little information. Does any one know of a few good resources?
