Not every successful indie movie is well-known.
This was only made for $17,000, but made over $1 million dollars profit for the companies involved...
This little film was under the media radar because it was a Christian film.

Here's the link to it: www.GoneTheFilm.com

just try to see the trailer, but the streaming was really choppy and ended losing patience with it. From what I saw, it looked like the dvx.

I'm afraid i'm a little weary of how good this film might be. there was another "Christian" film made on the dvx that got distribution and a good review, but it was really really bad. This of course isn't limited to "Christian" films, but generating a profit doesn't necessarily mean it is a good film.

In any case, I wouldn't mind making about $1 million :)

With all due respect, you gotta give Moviefan his due. He knows his audience and targeted the movie for the audience. That is one of the smartest thing I have seen in a long time.

I cant get past a certain spot in the trailer, it freezes. Wouldnt mind seeing a smoother trailer, though. Anyway, yeah, I agree with David in the whole targeted audience thing. Smart.

There obviously is an audience for this stuff... just not me... I would rather eat my own head...

...there is probably a good audience for that actually

" "Gone" was filmed entirely on location in the Philippines. Key locations within the Philippines included Manila, Pasig City, Bataan, Manila Bay, and Antipolo. Scenema Concept, a high-tech film production company based in Manila, provided the entire logistical support, including an in-house SFX team, led by Filbert Villalon, 2 24-P Sony 900 High Definition cameras, and the complete post-production warehouse to complete the film. The genesis of Scenema Concept came through the father and son team of Leo and Leonard Villalon, who both have a passion and intelligence for making great films."

//it looks its not dvx after all...

Wish I could shoot a feature on 2 F900s for $17,000.

Maybe the church helped to find them a good deal?

..hey,
knock the film all you want, but even dont start knocking Jesus..
this isnt the place for that sort of stuff. quickjabs at peoples faith or religion are not very freindly at all, and are off limits here. there are lost of people here with different beliefs and religions and although you do not have to agree with them, the community expects everyone to be respectful towards eachother and refrain from talking about faith/religion..let alone taking jabs ..becuase just like politics discussions or comments like that are a good way to start a bad thing.

.... ?

Sorry, I actually meant that in a semi-serious way.

...as in I guess the Church helped them get a deal on the kit. I can't see how the budget could be $17,000 otherwise.

No offense meant, I take you point iamloser. I shouldn't have written it in a sacastic way. It is a bit of a cultural thing in the UK. Sorry, I respect that this isn't the place or format for these discussions, it can be interpretted the wrong way too easily.

I'll edit the post
