Film look without 3rd party plugins - FCP6

I'm working on a film for a client and there's a scene that takes place in the 1960's and I want to make it look "older". The footage for this film was shot in 16mm and it looks really clear.

My client and I are doing a thing where we are sending each other the project file since I have the same footage and edits from the previous cut. I know it would be REALLY easy to get a 3rd party plugin to do this, but it'll be a problem since my client will most likely not have the plugin.

I've trying to mess with color correction and still haven't gotten desirable results. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You need to find clips of film and you can overlay then set the layer to multiply and it will look older. That is third party, but it will be cheaper than a plug in. You might try black and white or sephia and maybe use photos for texture maybe take a few pictures of something with texture. If you take three make each a frame set the layer to multiply and then just copy paste. Might work might not.

Good Luck

Hi,

Thire is a free plugin that does a very good job of the old film look. It even adds trapped hairs into the film gate if you want it to. Cant remember what its caleld but google will help, its quite well known.
