I need some help. This is my first film using a DVX 100A.
I am starting to do a short film - for a band. I want it to have the "look" of some classic films I love.
I love the colors and look of Fareinheit 451. I also like the look and feel of Vanishing Point.
I know the camera, lens and lighting has a lot to do with the look but I would like to know If anyone can tell me some tricks and tips to make my footage look like the movies I mentioned above.
I know Magic Bullet has a plug in for Final Cut Pro that simulates film "looks"...Bleech Bypass, Color Reversal, etc. What type of film processing was popular when the movies were made that I mentioned?
Can I use a filter to acheve some of the "look" I'm trying to get? I've looked into the Tiffen Ultra Pol Filter a bit but what else is out there that you guys like?
Anything else I should check into?
I know i'll never get the exact look I'm after, but any help to get me closer would be apreciated.
Thanks for the help,
Kip
