i am considering buying the 100a and have heard nothing but good reports on it.
how close does the camera look in 24p, as far as the film look. if im looking at footage shot, would i think it was shot on film or does it still have a video look?
thanks
jim

The dvx100a fixed some feature issues in the original dvx100.

The DVX100 is no longer offered, it's been discontinued for about 7 months now. The DVX100A is the way to go.

Straight out of the box, no tweaking, the DVX 24P looks like a hybrid of film & video. It definitely doesn't look like straight "video", so you might fool someone into thinking it was film just by the fact that they know for sure it's not video. But it also still retains the crispness of video. For a more filmic look you have to control lighting, use maybe a softnet or black promist filter, maybe add a little grain and a little glow in post... or use the mini35. With the mini35, I think the results look indistinguishable from 35mm film (when viewed on a television).
