Film Industry and Pseudonyms

Just FYI, I used a pseudonym occasionally. Mainly for work I don't particularly don't want my real name attached.

Too Jewish?

And I was under the impression that some folks changed they name to something that sounds Jewish, to get jobs in Hollywood.

Like Whoopi Goldberg (Caryn Elaine Johnson) or Zachary Levi, Caroline Aaron, Al Lewis....

When I move to cali I'm changing my name to Hassan Spielberg :D or Hassan Goldstein, just to confuse the hell out of everyone:grin:

Actually out here, it really wouldn't confuse anyone.

LOL, come on, Ron Artest changed his name to "Metta World Peace" and nobody batted an eye out here.

But why would you want to use a pseudonym?
I wouldn't even want to change my name credited/attached to something, even if it's a "hyphenated french first name" that many people wouldn't be able to pronounce correctly. Be proud of the work you did. Stand your point if someone altered your vision of it. You'll get your name a real reputation.
Just my 0.02¢

Bah. No love for Joe Estevez.

Joe Estevez is a very popular B movie actor with over 200 movies and shows to his credit and is still very much working and is a very cool guy. Get some money together and get him in your films. If you can deal with him directly it will make life much easier.

+1

The only member of that family I've ever actually worked with, nice guy.

It's kind of OT but I wanted to sing the praises of actors who self-represent and handle their own deal. Bill Murray's like that; he knows his business and come call time he shows up driving his own rental car. Great guy.
