Hey!
So i just finished another film of mine, ( it will be online soon for all of you to view!) and i want to submit it to some festivals, but besides the entry fee and the screener, what else should i inculde in the package i send to them? do they need music releases or actor releases or any other kind of releases? Also, what should be at the head of the film, I know there should be a title screen displying the directors name, but what else should go on that screen?

Thanks!

Hey thanks guys, but unless im blind, i didn't see a section in that article about what kind of releases you send them, or if you send them any? or do you just keep all those releases on file and just show them if they ask?

All you need to do is call the specific festival or go into their submission guidelines. They will tell you exactly what they need. Someone there will answer your questions. If it's not mentioned in the guidelines, don't send it.

By the way, I have two features I'm submitting to festivals this year so I would just hold your film till next year, so you have a chance of winning. This year is my year :)

oh yea!?
Heh, thats ok, my films are shorts so i guess i'll let you win the features categeory... this year!

best of luck to you!

The only required material usually needed is the DVD and payment. Most festivals will hang your posters if you send them but they also can do things with your press release if you have one.

Hey Pierre, nice find! That thread is a must read for filmmakers imo. It should be a sticky.
