Film-Connection (Alternative School)

The big difference is that at least with a physical film school you get actual hands on with their equipment. Its not the camera stuff either. Lighting and grip can really cost a bundle. Look at all the folks around here using worklights and other crap because they can't afford much beyond a cheap camera.

Hollywood Camera Work has an excellent Master Course in Blocking and Staging on a set of six DVDs. In order to really practice a lot of the techniques beyond the first couple of DVDs however, you need access to a decent dolly and crane.

Some things lend themselves to online training and some things don't. That's my two cents anyway.
