Film Class Assignment

Re: Film Class Assignment

So you're getting ripped off. Get used to it. I used to be a feature editor, and can't tell you how many times directors took credit for my work. On the other hand, I had a great producer on a tv show I was editing, and he came up with ideas I should have thought of! Ideas aren't this finite thing that you run out of. If somebody borrows from you, think up something better for the next project. Hollywood is a tiny community. People are going to take from you all the time. You really need to be comfortable with the idea and know it's just part of the process. Otherwise you'll drive yourself nuts. Be proud that your ideas are good enough to steal!

Learn, Rehearse, Teach then Learn some more.

Be confident ideas can be ripped off but the execution of those ideas can only be as good as you make them.

Best of luck and think of it this way. We're making films. We're shooting. And we can only get better with experience (if you meet it halfway with work). I'm not talking about success but man I love the process as much as I love the final product.

They should start a section on this forum for stories on shoots people can share. Maybe with production stills , people they've worked with, etc...

Cheers.

I totally agree with enterdcable.
You can have an amazing idea, but it will only be amazing if you make it amazing.
I'm relatively new into filmmaking, and i'm in film school right now. I suggest to going to a school where film is not a bird course. I feel in class that I'm immersed in a totally creative environment, full of people just like me... wanting to make amazing films.
