Fill light with fluorescent lighting?

While working with tungsten lighting I get used to use reflected from ceilings light as a fill light. After switching to fluorescent I can't find the replacement. I tried tungsten with daylight filters but the results weren't satisfying due significant color shift.

I am working a lot in small squares and using 1-2 of front fluorescent lights as main source of lighting and need something to light the background from top. Which type of light to use to mix with fluorescent - HMI?

Okay, help me out here a bit -- I didn't quite follow you....what do you mean by "small squares?" whenever someone uses 'small' and 'hmi' together, I get a little worried. ;-)

So HMI is not the option, are any other ideas? I need to balance the strong front lighting. I am thinking about something like:

Will it be better than tungsten with daylight filters to mix with high CRI fluorescent (OSRAM STUDIOLINE)?
