Files not optimized Warning...

Uh oh...problem -

I forgot to capture with the proper preset and did not remove the pulldown... I shot in 24PA and dumping it into a 23.98 timeline.

So I figured I'd just batch reverse telecine in Cinema Tools and remove it that way... all was fine and I processed about 90 clips.

Then I set up a new project and imported all my fixed clips...

Problem: I get a Media performance warning telling me the following files are not optimized for FCP HD. Recommended I recapture or use the media manager to create new copies of the files to improve their performance for the multi-stream playback. Huh?

Then it lists the offending files, about 30 of the 90.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong and what to do about it?

Thanks in advance -

Tim

What format were they saved in from Cinema Tools? If they're not in standard DV format (such as being saved in Animation codec) then it won't be optimized to move clips through the pipeline.

I didn't realize Cinema Tools changed the format when reversing telecine
. There was no option to Save in a different format. The clips were conformed to 23.98, standard upper/ lower with the Capture Mode fields captured as Field 1 only. They look to be the same format to me - Quicktime .movs

Thanks - Tim

Hmm, sounds like you deal with it as 24p, not 24pa, since there's no field options in advanced removal in cinema tools as far as I know.
Check the settings of the new clcisp you imported and compare to sequence.

Uh -- you know you can remove the pulldown AFTER you captured it, right?

Tools - Remove Advanced Pulldown.

Good luck,
