My filmmaking partner turned me onto this program recently, and I can't tell you how much time it's saved us -
FilePhile
It essentially allows you to setup a peer to peer network with anyone, and transfer files of any size for free.
Since it's a peer to peer connection there is no more 'doubling up' on time to get files to someone. We used to upload stuff to an FTP server and then the other person would have to download it - making it a real pain when you're transferring video files that were often around a gig in size.
The other great thing about the program is that you can give permission for certain people on the contact list to send you files without you having to okay them. So if you leave the program open, someone can send files to you even while you aren't home, or at the computer, etc - and when you get back you'll have the stuff sitting there on your desktop.
Anyhow - we've gotten a lot of use out of it - and I figured a lot of people here would also. Check it out.
