First off great site, not a lot of posts from me, but I do a ton of reading. I have a very big dilemma on my hands and I thank you for any replies beforehand.
So here it is....I used a Canon 60D and shot video in .mov format on a SDHC. I THOUGHT the files were backed up so I formatted the disk to shoot another project. I started shooting pictures (jpg) on the recently cleared SDHC, until I realized the original .mov files were NOT backed up. Yes lesson learned....
I downloaded via some friends full and unlocked versions of some 'pro' grade file recovery software. CardRescue, DiskDrill, Etc. All of them run the same result. A full deep scan finds the .mov files and 'recovers' them to a separate folder. The file duration is accurate, it is labeled as .mov and shows 'Quicktime' movie. However when I play the files it is NO visual. All black screen. And the audio is very sporadic at best, mainly the original audio speckled with white noise and static.
So to summarize quickly:
Original file found
Duration of clip is accurate
.mov file type accurate
NO playable file. Black visual and next to no audio.
Is there ANY software or scan I can do to further dive into these files and recover the visual at least? I don't even need the audio as it will be dubbed over with music.
Thanks for any help!
