Curious if anyone here knows how to do that effect in Fight club were the center point of the frame stays stable, but the background seems to shake and pulse ( ie the tyler durden "your not a beautiful snowflake" speech )

I've sen it used in some shorts on here. But I can't remember which to contact...

If anyone can help, I thank you now...

and to see trailers and sH*t for the film I'm using it in, check out

I believe that is done by shooting a clean plate, and then a plate with the various objects they want to "shake". You rotoshape all the individual objects then shake them around, and composite them and the actor back on top of everything

I'd like to learn more as well....

anyone have hands-on experience replicating this effect?

On the Fight Club commentary Fincher says they shot it by shaking the camera rapidly in front of Pitt's face then in post tracking the middle of his face so it stays kinda static and everything shakes around that pivot point.

try After Effects tracking then apply wiggle.
