Fig rig and the cartoni focus.

I thought I'd post this here as many of us have the focus head.

Anyway was wondering if the focus plate will go into the manfrotto quick release that comes with the fig rig. I don't want to be switching plates every five seconds. Probably a dumb question but they look about the same size.

I doubt it, I think the fig rig uses the same plate as the 501 and 503 heads, I know for a fact that those plates aren't interchangeable with the Cartoni plate. Sorry!

The easiest solution is to buy a similar Manfrotto QR base (577) and mount it on
your Cartoni head. this way you can use the same (Manfrotto) plate for both.

Thanks Danny, I actually just purchased the 577 off eBay for my DIY fig rig (will post pics in a few days). So I guess might be quickest to transfer cam from fig to tripod by leaving the 577 attached and just taking out the bolt that holds the 577 to the fig. Hope that's how it works, at least. Thanks for your help.
