Field of View and Panning Rates

Hello,

From what I understand, the negative space for still frame photography is much larger than for motion picture film, so I'm assuming that it would also affect the field of view and proper panning rate to avoid strobe. I was wondering if anyone had a mathematical formula for converting typical 35mm still frame field of view to 35mm motion picture.

I'm looking into getting a director's viewfinder and am trying to figure out If I put it at a certain focal length, what the corresponding focal length for my SGblade will be.

I've seen Barry's chart for panning speeds on the HPX for both 24p and 30p. Does anyone have a similar one, or better yet a formula or calculator built to figure out what it would be for a 35mm still frame lens at different focal lengths?

Thanks so much!
