Field Monitor - Standard Tv or LCD?

I'm looking into buying a field monitor to help assist with framing and color settings with my dvx. Is buying a portable LCD to mount on the camera, such as this one, any better than the dvx lcd?

or would I be better of buying something like this

The LCD is cheaper and more convenient, but I'm wondering if I'm going to run into the same problems with color as I do with the dvx lcd. It would also be nice to have it double as a viewing monitor in post with correct color, but I will buy another tv if needed when I get there. Anyone have experience with either/or/both of these?

A CRT monitor will give you a more accurate representation of how your stuff will look on a regular TV. The LCD monitor you linked to is probably better than the one on the DVX. IT would be great to use on a stabilizer or something else where you need to view the image as you shoot, but it doesn't seem like you can calibrate it all. IF you have the money, I'd go for a CRT monitor for the best representation of the image.

i just got an lcd screen but it is for crane shots so i can see what the crane see's and so if i'm using the dolly so if i'm working with someone who wrote the story they can see and make sure it looks like what they envisioned.

i have a 14" sony monitor (glass) it weighs like 40 pounds and i still love it.

the underscan feature is wonderful.

i bought dv rack a while ago and i'm trying to convert over to using that but i worry about the laptop being damaged or the firewire cable getting tangled up.

i find it enough work to keep an eye on the camera(s) and cables and worrying about the laptop and long firewire cable will take a while to get used to.
