Ok....Let's say I want to make a film about a bicycle courier who robs banks on his breaks. He robs banks and uses his bike and courier uniform to get lost in a crowd quickly and seamlessly. Now... Let's say I shoot it in a documentary style adding enough realism so people who watch believe it is an actual event or series of events and evreyone believes I'm actually documenting this guys life though it is pure fiction. Does anybody know if I am required to let my viewers know that what they are watching is pure fiction with no bearing on reality? I'm wondering if I will have to run the old " The characters portrayed in this film are purely fictional, blah, blah, blah" thingie in my film. Anyone no the details legaly on this? Thanks in advance.

You wouldn't have to say anything. Just do it. Remember all the hype behind the Blair Witch Project? It worked really well for them. Run with it.

Blair witch what, where!...Oh yes, that was such a great film I forgot it already. They did use the syle in question. I was kind of wondering if all the panic "war of the worlds" created way back when had infuenced us legally to let people know we were pulling the old leg. But you are so right with the BWP so I should be OK. Cool...Thanks Horse!
