Fiber screens, the future of the 35mm adapters?

I still working on the problem to build an exchangable GG solution for my LEX (without totaly messing it up).

Did some tests with the fiberscreens Evangelos gave me and I liked what I saw (exept the loss of speed).

I´m using medium format lenses that coud really benefit from a 70mm screen, but I think it would be insane expensive.
Also I would probably run into all sorts of geometrical problems. I´m still hoping, that with such a big screen there would be no need anymore to shake or spinn it at all, cause one would not have to zoom in that much anymore - so the grain stays invisible.

On the other hand, Evangelos is deep into this matter - I wonder with what he comes up the next time.

As soon I got it all figured out and bolted together I let you guys know.

Yep I'm planing to sell them...

We were have a shoot the other day and the DoP used the 35 adapter all the way except of same wide angles shoot that was with the Cinestyle zoom... we couldn't find which was which... when shooting with Fiber screen you can inter cut with HD lens with no problem... yes you lose light but the result its not difused and its sharp as it can get...

This is a test with fiber http://www.motionfx.gr/ggrelay_galery.htm

See it and tell me your opinion... don't forget to read the notes in the web page...

Frank any news? did you find a way to mount it?

Philip any news from your side?

Merry Christmas... to all!

I haven't forget the Fiber screens... I'm just very busy financially with the GG.relay... My modular relay lens for 2/3 cameras that is in production as we speak...

If I will do something with the fiberscreen it will be with the SGblade... probably an RR4 Fiberscreen... Wayne doesn't know anything about this...

Let him first put his hands on my relay first...

All my best wishes to everyone for the new year that is coming...

If you want to compare you need to see the video because the vibrating aspect of the image does not come across in a still frame.

You can't tell what the difference is until you actually see the video. Still images don't tell you what the video actually looks like.

This Monday I will send for evaluation unit to Wayne (SGblade), the S35 and FF35 conversion kt, I will also deliver one FF35 to Chris Albert in Israel and it will be one more in stock.

In two to three weeks the new web site will be live with on line ordering...

Actually I can accept orders as we speak...

That's great news, Evangelos. I'll check your site next next month.

Cheers,
Peter

I'm afraid that this might be a dead project... Wish that Wayne from Shoot35 could comment what he thinks about, and if he has tested it.

Actually most people feel 35mm adapters in general are a dead project. lol. I still use them though, I like the softer grainy look, It's the film lover in me. hahah

I still use dslr's too. it all depends on the job.
