Few new shots

Few shots from my recent trip to Portland... and also one from my DIY lightring (featuring my Father).

Lots of PS work done to most of them. The "stream" one has the least amount of treatment done (slight levels, curves, hue, sat), with the "skateboard" and "stairwell" the most...

Let me know what you think.

oh, and they're all shot on the D80 with the 18-135 kit lens. I'm REALLY loving getting back into photography.

there's plenty more to come!

After looking at them, I realize the skin tone of my Dad is too olive/green... I'll fix it tomorrow...

very nice photos man. I agree with you, a tad greenish.

But they all have very nice composition and grading. Love em

The only criticism i have is the ring light in your dads eyes. My personal taste says that the ring light was too close to him, making his pupils almost none existant. I find it a bit more pleasant when the ring light gaps the border between the pupil and iris.

Cheers, and thanks for sharing!

Ryan, you work, as usual is spot damn on. The one with the waterfall fist struck me as out of balance, but the more I looked, the more I realized the waterfall only helped establish the shot.

The colors on some of them seem just a bit pushed, but I'm not complaiing.

I like the one with your dad. His skin is a little yellow, but instead of trying to fix the whole thing, try just making one Hue and Adjustment layer, picking the yellow channel, swinging that more towards the red, and then changing that channel's adjustment layer to color. I think you will be pleased.

To me, that's already the best of the bunch. Love the ring lights.

I dig the light-post shot, but my favorite is the post-work done on the skateboarder, it's real effective and it has a clear vision.

Bravo.
