Festivus Film Festival, Denver

I just got back from a 4 day film fest in denver called the festivus film festival. It is a kick ass indie film festival and I highly recommend submitting your work to these guys. The accept a wide range of works from shorts, features, music videos, experimentals and even action sports films. I was a bit worried about showing up to an empty theatre for the screening of my surf documentary, especially since it was playing in Denver but they did an amazing job promoting all of the films, had some sweet venues set up and really look after their filmmakers. We got picked up at the airport, and had rides everywhere we needed to go for the weekend, they even got us $100 off/night at a killer hotel in downtown Denver. If you're an indy filmmaker and have some cool work to show off then put some consideration into submitting your work to this festival, because a film fest that can pack a theatre for a surf video in Denver is doing something right.

Our short film, "Crossing the Line" was accepted into Festivus but we were unable to attend. Everyone I talked to said the fest was a blast and they planned to attend next season.

Was your the short about the guy locked in his car? I think yours screened with mine on the saturday. That was hilarious, too bad you missed out on this year, im going back next year even if i don't have a film in the festival.

Yeah, that was mine! How was the audience reaction to our film? How did your screening go?

Yes, it did suck that we didn't get to go. Maybe next year.

audience reacted well , your film got a lot of laughs and i really enjoyed it as well. afterwards there was a q & a session and I was the only filmmaker from our time slot there, good thing i had beer to calm my nerves a bit.
