Festival worthiness?

If it were me, I would make a note to never submit to that fest again. They are obviously full of it. I've made a mistake or two with my WAB submissions and I believe each time they've come to me and said. . ."uh, the DVD you sent us says this, but your submission info on WAV says this. . .which did you mean?" That at least tells me they're paying attention. Looks like in your case they weren't. Very weak.

They found my posts I'm guessing, and emailed me:

Hi Brandon,

We caught wind of you being upset about receiving our rejection email and I wanted to write to you to apologize.

Your entry, having not been received, was supposed to be deleted instead of “yellowed”. My assistant Sara has been out this week due to a death in the family and I’ve been working with an intern, and she misunderstood some of the WAB instructions and miscategorized your entry. As a result, you accidentally received the wrong email through the WithoutABox messaging system.

Again, my apologies for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,
Wm. Brian Owens
Artistic Director

So we screened at our first festival (Southern California Business Film Festival) and our film won "Best Screenplay"! Wooohooo

Update...

Rejected by Cannes. I knew it was a longshot, but I wanted it...bad :/

Accepted by Riverside International Film Festival. Will be doing a Q&A on a panel of sci-fi shorts :)
Accepted by SCBFF - won best screenplay

So we're 2/3 so far.

There's about six other festivals we'll be finding out about in the next six weeks. They're some very good ones in this bunch...fingers crossed...

Latest update:

We got accepted into Comic-Con! We'll be screening and doing a Q&A on Saturday July 14th with other sci-fi films - http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci_iff.php Would love to meet anyone from DVX if you'll be there!

Rejected by LA Film Fest and Worldwide Film Fest :/ I submitted to both of these on the last day, and have found out very recently from a festival insider this GREATLY reduces your chances....well I know now....
