I see this coming up often, and I'm wondering what I'm missing.
Most festivals seem to ask if the screening copy is in any of these aspect ratios: : 1:1.33 1:1.66 1:1.85 1:2.35 (scope)
So, I'm wondering why 1.78 is not listed more often. Isn't 1.78 the standard 16x9 aspect ratio for HD? And given that 90% of short films are probably being shot in HD, isn't the 1.78 aspect ratio going to be the most common screening size? Why aren't festivals asking for it?
