I was looking around trying to see a cheap and good option for lighting video outside at night or even in a dark desert. Now some of us don't like the idea of a Generator frankly I don't think any of us due. Due to the loud noise. But what about some Wireless LED Lights. I was looking and I came across there very powerful Gun Lights they use for hunting and the military and so on. This little LED Flashlight gives off a max of 215 Lumens. Also I looked into the battery life.
So here are some facts of the different settings.
General Mode: 12 lumens (65hrs) -> 53 lumens (13hrs) -> 120 lumens (4.8hrs)
Turbo Mode: 215 lumens (1.8hrs) -> Strobe
I looked at a few videos and for lighting at night in a town or city you really only need around 53 Lumens with a descent amount of space from your subject. So roughly you can look at a good mix in between of 9 HRS. Switching back and forth 53&120.
So I don't know. This is just an idea I came across I may just be full of crap but maybe someone else has tried these lights or maybe someone has a better option.
The light is only $60. And since it's a flashlight you can place a Filter Cone to turn it into a Lantern.
So let me know what you think.
