Feeling Romantic? I am not! I hate Vignetting!!!

So I am almost done with my self built 35mm adapter (thank you very much) I have the lens to the ground glass in perfect position. The lens measures properly the distance that the subject has to be in focus. Great crisp image...yet one thing drives me nuts!!..freaking Vignetting!

I've been reading about it and I know there are

Mechanical vignetting
Optical vignetting
Natural vignetting
and Pixel vignetting

So i do understand what they all mean...still I don't get why I get it. I figure that it is occuring somehwere in between the front lens of the DVX to the GG:

DVX - Achromatic lens - Spacer Tube - GG - Spacer Tube - Nikon Lens

I can tell that I get a crisp image from the GG to the Nikon Lens...but from the front of the DVX is the problem. Any ideas what could be causing it? It is not serious but non the less it is still there. I called my friend that has the LetUs and he told me he also has some vignetting but nothing serious becuase it is above the broadcast safety zone.

Anyone want to chime in with his two cents?

I've noticed that the vignetting changes also depending on the lens type I use...could that be the problem?

There's definitely some vignetting happening on my 50mm Nikon if you shoot wide open at f/1.4. It mostly goes away by f/2.8 or f/4. So if you're trying to isolate what's causing it, maybe do some test shots on an evenly lit wall using an aperture like f/4 or even f/5.6 since the lens will be performing at its very best there.

ok i must be a complete moron....so if i go f/4 am i not closing it up...i tried it and i get more vignetting. I thought if you opened the lens to f/1.4 you would have less vignetting as light is coming in thru....don't quite get it

Well..

For start, you should say what kind of GG you use !!!!!!

..in many cases you can reduce Vignetting with PCX lens near GG, and some ground-glass elements already consist build-in PCX ( like Nikon D screen )..

Also, maybe you could change distance from GG to Camera lens..

..you can find all of your answers at "Yes, I am afraid I have another 35mm adapter" thread at the top of the page..

... seems to me, that more experienced members become tired of the new one, who don't take enought time and read some more on existing threads, and wan's only instant result..
