Feelin' that DVX Love

I few months ago I was debating camera choices... Canon vs. Sony vs. DVX.

I chose DVX, with some reservations--it's not HD, no interchangeable lenses, etc. After spending some time with the camera, those reservations have all but disappeared. (I'll admit to wishing it was native 16:9.)

The results have been fantastic. 24p rocks, and the camera is so versatile! I was initially concerned about the "form factor" not measuring up to the Canon, but have found my concerns unwarranted. In fact, I find that people instantly acknowledge the DVX as an impressive piece of equipment.

What's more, the relatively compact size & weight makes the camera more portable. It's not a big deal for me to toss my DVX into the passenger's seat and take it with me. This means I end up using the camera more often, learning more and acquiring more footage. It's a great combination of function and form....professional but not intimidating.

DVXUser is an outstanding resource. Thanks to the database of posts and expertise gathered here, I've learned even more about the camera and how to use it. This place is like an online film school.

I'll take a long hard look at the HVX when it comes out. But for now, I couldn't be much happier with the DVX.

If it weren't against Gods law (and the state of Texas) I'd make the DVX me wife!

...that's an altered Grounds Keeper Willy reference from The Simpsons.
