Feedback on new 5.6 lcd

well i started off a week ago with a varizoom lcd...

i don't want to offend anyone who has one and really likes it, but in my opinion it was a piece of crap.

the picture was awful and it came with about half a dozen dongles to connect it to the battery and to the charger and to the lcd etc.

so i returned that and rememberd that someone had posted something about a small lcd that ran off panasonic batteries, so i posted a message and like 5 minutes later someone told me that was the nebtek.

well the nebtek came today and it is exactly what i had hoped for.

obviously it run on panasonic battteries, huge + there because it means no wires to get to the battery, no extra charger and of course i already have plenty of those batteries so its one less thing to worry about/pack.

it costs $499 which is like $150 more than the varizoom but just having less cables/batteries is worth the difference to me right there.

the screen is brighter than i will ever probably need and the screen is very sharp. i haven't looked up the specs but it seems sharper than the dvx lcd. maybe thats just because it is so much bigger?

but anyway now i have a much better way of seeing what my camera is seeing when its flying on the crane or when i use it on my new 3 wheeled baby sport stroller!

Sounds Great - Do you have a model # and a web site I could check out. How do you attach the DVX to your three wheeler? I was thinking about a stroller with a sandbag and Small tripod in the seat.

here is the link to the manufacturer, if you buy it from them it is the list price, but if you get it from a dealer it is $499

http://www.nebtek.com/proddetail.php?prod=101NEB50LI

i got mine from www.zgc.com (ask for chris)

i was thinking of some way to use the camera in a way that didn't require putting down dolly tracks and maybe something that let you go faster or make unplanned moves, so i thought about those 3 wheel strollers you typically see with women who run. i guess they call them sport strollers.

so i found a women on ebay who had sold a LOT of them and asked her if she had any scratch/dent deals and told her what i wanted it for, and she had one that was missing the fancy fabric on top.

the aluminum tubing that holds it together is roughly 5/8" so i used a matthews grip head to clamp down on one of the side tubes and put a bogen ball head from my car mount kit.

then i realized i needed a screen up close to me so i could make sure i kept whatever i would be filming in frame.

i haven't taken it outside yet as its been really cold and i didn't have the screen i wanted until today!

so i'll probably take it to a place with large indoor hallways and play with it.

i'll post pictures by the end of the weekend showing the whole rig.

Re: Feedback on new 5.6 lcd

Sounds Really Cool,
Try putting a 25 pound sandbag in there some where.
It will make it ride smoother
Thanks for the link to the lcd info

Re: Feedback on new 5.6 lcd

once i get it going i'm going to experiment with weight.

the fabric seat isn't there but there is a litlte footrest on the bottom and plenty of side alum. tubing for the frame that i could attach to.

here is the big question, it had 3 small wheels, maybe 12 inches, whats better higher air pressure or lower air pressure?

Re: Feedback on new 5.6 lcd

I would think the air pressure would depend on the surface you are on. Lower pressure for rough, higher pressure for smooth. I would also imagine you would mostly want to stay at lower pressures as to reduce vibrations.
