feedback on a little video who took me 2 hours to do

Could you perhaps tell us the purpose of the video? What are you trying to achieve?

It's all very jarring, with jerky pans, sudden jumps in noise level (lots of which is just really loud background sounds). What was the point of suddenly having the guy dunk in B&W?

Nice house, btw

Whenever I have someone evaluate what I do, I don't always tell them the purpose. This way, if my intent was clear, it will come out obviously in my work and they will know without supplementary information. This isn't always easy to accomplish (practically never is), but should be the goal when we try to make art, especially of the video variety.

When I watched your piece I found myself asking the question "why" a LOT. I'm left with a complete lack of understanding. I have no idea why you made the video, what purpose it serves, and why you included the shots you did. I have no idea why you used the B&W shot, and the slow-mo shot.

From a technical perspective, like roly mentioned, your pans were jarring and the audio in your video was disconcerting because it changed in volume levels sporadically. Sorry about the harsh criticism, but you literally asked for it. Take this with a grain of salt. I am, by no means, a cinematographic genius. These were just the things I thought while watching your video.

What this some kind of abstract thing?

Here is a little video i did.
I thought there was maybe too much panning. The camera work could be more slow and less bumping.

What do you guys things ? Any other aspects of the video that could be upgraded ?
thanks in advance,

While I did not see as much 'jerky' on the pans, pans are difficult to maintain the same angular rate across the pan, 'by hand work'. Hence perhaps some hesitation and jerk results.

In the shots of the workmen, often the head of one of the men would be cut off by the frame. This would 'work' if there was an obvious item of interest, for example hands on the saw, yeah, sure the operator's head is cut off, but it is 'clear' we are looking at the saw and hands...

For the pans and tilts, look into 'fluid heads', to allow easy pan/tilt operations. Some of the more expensive versions have tension controls to allow for smoother operation.

I interpreted this clip as a 'test' of panning/tilting and some amount of framing.
