feature/timeline

Normally I shoot short films but now I’m shooting a feature and was wondering what others do during editing on Vegas pro 8? Do you edit your whole film on one time line or do you break up the scenes in different files and when you are ready to put it all together you cut and paste all your scenes from different files onto one time line? Thanks

Vegas Pro 8.0 supports nested projects so there is no need to cut-n-paste. I like to work in smaller projects and then drop all of those into a master project for the final movie. Vegas will treat each project just like any other piece of media on the timeline, i.e., they come in as a single event that you can trim and stretch and apply FX, etc.

On both my features in Vegas 7, I cut all on one timeline. Its much easier to change the shots of the scenes that way. Also from a a coloring standpoint, I can color a shot in relation to the entire film, not just a specific scene.
