FCPX out to Davinci resolve 9

Is anyone using Davinci Resolve Lite for their color grading?

Ive been messing with it for a bit and done a fair about of looking online for info but I'm still having some issues finding definitive answers.

first on the list is does Resolve 9 support FCPX's time remaped clips? it doesn't seam to but none of the documentation says it doesn't and it seams like that would have been mentioned before

all i get upon opening a exported XML is all green boxes indicating assets found and then a red one next to a statement "Timemap is not supported" and a gap in my timeline in resolve where my rem aped clip was.

anybody got any good ideas?

i realy dont want to bake in all my slo/fast motion clips

thanks in advance.
John

PS i wish we could have colorX and SoundtrackX if you know what i mean.

Did you ever find a work around?

I'm having the same issue. Seems I'm gonna have to manually import the clips into Resolve and then re-apply my speed changes in FCPX after I'm done.

Weird, time remapped clips work just fine in Resolve 8 (it just throws the entire length of the clip in it's native playback speed). When you export back to FCPX everything is put back into the same place as the original clips with all their original filter, motion, speed, and color effects applied.

my issue with Resolve 8 is its inability to read multi frame timelines (I have often mixed 720p50 and 1080p25 and more). Resolve does´t even open those.
So for docs work I don´t use it anymore, because I won´t conform hundreds of clips. The workaround is to isolate the various frame rates , slap roles onto them and then grade them separately. Not ideal, so I hope Resolve 9 will be better with improving framrates, remapped clips etc.

Could you explain the workaround in more detail? Or at least point to where I could read about it? I've had this problem too with Resolve 8 and had to abandon using it mid-project.

Thanks.

Hi,
I have now tested the Resolve 9 Lite Beta and it seems to be able to mix framerates and resolutions. This is a careful mention of this, because I had a few crashes, but Resolve 9 did not tell me it can´t open the XML-file. It did open 3 test projects and it crashed on another one. But it is beta. I think Resolve 9 will be able to handle all this.
