FCP won't open! HELP!

I'm in a huge time crunch for a feature doc so I recently installed FCP onto my lap top g4 powerbook (in addition to my desktop imac g5). Originally it opened fine on the lap top, with no problems. the lap tops purpose is so my coeditor can transcribe interviews while I continue logging and capturing more footage on the imac. The imac has no issues.

I copied all the files from one 500gb lacie hd onto another lacie (same size). The file transfer was successful...but now when I try to open FCP on the laptop it terminates itself the second I press continue on the "AV device not hooked up" warning.

I think the problem began when I chose a scratch disk the first time. I tried to choose the mirrored lacie, but may have made a mistake. The point is that I can't even check it because it terminates before any options are available.

I tried uninstalling FCP (my method was dragging the FCP folder to the trash/empty), but it doesn't seem to work. I say this because when I run the reinstall and select "install FCP" it tells me that I'm performing an upgrade, rather than being the original folder. The "upgrade" consists of zero mb, and I don't have to give the serial number, so I figure its acting on some kind of file I don't know how to uninstall? Any ideas.

Sorry for the length...tried to be thorough. Thanks

Try deleteing the Preferences

All of them for FCP

They should be named:

com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist

and

Final Cut Pro User Data

There may be one more?

Thanks Scott. Got it working! Just deleted the files from that list and it worked fine after the reinstall
