FCP won't launch without trashing preferences???

I've captured, edited, and everything works fine except when I close the
FCP application it won't launch unless I trash my FCP preferences file. Then I can pickup where I left off.

Everytime something goes wrong, I instinctively trash my preferences. It's become reflex now. I'm running FCP 5. I didn't have that problem in 4. I never even thought about reinstalling ... maybe that would work. I routinely check for updates.

I come from an audio background. Trashing Preferences is a pretty common fix. It is strange your having so much trouble. My system does having a problem launching every so often too, but I've been dealing with it. I just thought it was a bug they would fix in time with an update. I hate reinstalling. I think I'll wait and hope for an update. Please write back and let us know if you reinstall... and if it works for you.
