FCP w/ dvx100b + sony a1U

will be shooting 24p w. the dvx100b.... but will be using the sony a1U for a second cam until I have enough trade it in a get a dvx.... just was wondering what I should run on the second cam and how i should handle the footage in final cut to get the best looking final product....

*its not an issue if the cams don't look the same... just want them both to look the best they can


I use FCP 5.04 and needs to be widescreen for the final product

so should IOshoot in stretch mode on the dvx then SD 16:9 with the sony and edit it on a regular amamorphic timeline?

or should I shoot in 1080i and downconvert SD ?
is there a way to convert the sony 60i footage to 24P ?

1- yes, do 16:9 Sequence.
2- I'd keep it all SD to start with, or you'll have VERY diffferent looking clips, otherwise shoot 1080i. You'll convert to SD in FCP.
3- Cinema Tools will convert the Sony 60i to 24p.

do you know of a tutorial for how to do that in cinema tools ??

do I capture the 24p just like normal 16:9 footage ??

and do I change the frame rate setting on my timeline to ?
