FCP Viewer problem

OK here's my problem.

My viewer has a giant X through it. The "X" allows me to move the video and
change the size of the video that I am veiwing but I can't pull down the video
to the timeline.

Here's how it happened.

I was attempting to type something in the text, however I was not paying attention
and I never swithed to the control tab and typed into the video tab. Then I looked up
and saw the big white "X".

So I tried to get rid of it, and bring the viewer back to normal but I have no clue
how to do it. The "X" remains even after a restart.

Any help would be great.
 
One of the middle buttons on the viewer (though I bet you meant to say CANVAS) has something that says WIREFRAME + IMAGE.

Don't select it.

There is a hot key for it, but I don't remember what it is. You probably selected it in a fit of key mashing rage one day.
 
Add this to the list of "trick your friends with computer shortcuts"...

My favorites on the list (for a mac):
Command + F5,
AND
Command + Option + Control + 8
