FCP to Tape

I´m not too deep into FCP but need to help a friend on this.

He got one of those little Sony recorders where he feeds tapes of his HDV cam.

Now after editing is done he wants to play the timeline to tape via firewire on that recorder.

We tried everything but the recorder is not seeing the Mac and FCP is not able to print to tape.

YOu need to use the PRINT TO VIDEO option and let it conform the HDV for a while. HDV isn't as simple as DV in terms of playing out footage. You can't just press play and have it work. HDV is too complex a format for that.
