FCP to Premiere Pro CS5?

At school I’m using a MAC with FCP 7 that contains all of my projects and data, and at home a PC with PPRO CS5 that contains none of my work or data. I’d like to go back and forth between computers using the XML files.

1. Is it possible to go between a MAC & PC with the non-linear editing applications?

2. What exactly is exported with the XML files in regards to a project?

I also have an external hard drive that I use as backup for all my work at school. I figured I could plug it into my PC then drag over my captured clips from FCP 7 but when I tried my PC installed the drivers and wouldn’t allow me to view any files on the drive.

3. Can I use the XML file to transfer my captured clips as offline files then re-capture everything on my PC?

Going to be a huge headache- I wouldn't bother trying... I'd go into details but you'll find those if you search this forum.

Agreed - if you're going to make the transition once, great, but you absolutely don't want to go back and forth, especially if there are effects, speed ramps, multiple layers, or anything else other than straight cuts. Just camp out at school at night and weekends and you'll be able to spend your time being creative instead of trying to battle technology.
