wut u doing? movies? shorts? documentiars? well, mostly u do it in final cut, or avid or adobe, and THEN go to after effects, same applies ith shake and motion
Simple answer is edit in FCP then output to a referance movie to AE.
I normaly do quite a bit of testing of effects in AE while i'm editing in FCP to see what clips will take better for certain effects.

Ok so I bought the DV Rebel's book and am confused on how to export FCP to AE.
The book says I should split my A/B roll footage, remove effects/transitions, then export as a self contained movie into AE under native settings.
Now the parts that confuse me are, how do you break up A/B roll footage? The picture on the dvd isn't quite clear to me.
Next, once exported into AE, I break the footage up into separate shots? Does this mean I make a new layer every time the camera cuts? Does B-roll sit in it's own separate layer, overlapping with the corresponding A-roll?
