Anyone know why when you select Text from within FCP and you start typing in the control box it puts everything your typing in the middle of the screen although your typing at the very top of the control box? What if I need to fill the whole screen with text for example, I might need to put a disclaimer up before the actual video starts or something.
 
You can always reposition the text after you're done typing or use lower third text.

Well unless I am just not thinking correctly the only way I know to reposition text is to go to image+wireframe, click the box, and then move the whole box upwards to move the text to top of the frame.
 
There is a "centering" attribute in the control box for the text. If you click the crosshairs in the control box and then click where you want the text in the canvas it will go there.
