FCP Studio 2 Update (dvdsp acting crazy)

I recently installed the final cut studio 2 updating from 5.01 .... since i have installed it dvdsp is acting crazy.... my layered menus it is showing other layers then I have selected... the program crashes freqently and worst of all when I burn dvds some of the buttons just flat don't work... even though they work perfect on the simulator

should I clear preferences somewhere/ reinstall ? anyone else have this problem ??
 
The first thing I would do is update to 6.02 if you have not done so already. I believe all of the FCS 2 apps have been updated to at least .02 versions, but you can tell for sure through software update.
 
good idea.... really weird... program runs fine on my powerbook but on my imac its jacked.... its like it can't keep up with layers correctly.. there showing up even when there not checked ?
