FCP speed effect clips looks fuzzy

I'm using the speed effect to speed up some clips in FCP, up to between 120 - 150 of the original speed. I just noticed that on my sony pvm monitor the sped up clips looks a little fuzzy or artifacted. Has anyone noticed that problem? I don't know if it's just my monitor set up or if the final output will actually look that way. Any ideas?

thanks!

Are they rendered?(sorry, sometimes it's just the simplest answer, not trying to be an ass)

Apparently 24p footage does not speed or slow motion overly well compared to 60i, not sure if you shot 24p, but with the computer creating frames, not sure exactly how it all works, but the new frames don't go to well into the new speed.

Best bet to get an tv monitor hooked up to make sure your eyes just aren't playing tricks on you, or test some different speeds, to see if they make any difference.

yeah, it's rendered, and I shot in 24p. I'm looking at it on an external sony production monitor. Is there a certain ratio of percentages I should be using, such as multiples of 24 or something like that?

Did you check the 'Frame Blending' in the Clip speed options window?

If so, FCP is going to be creating in between frames to try and smooth out the the slow down or speed up of your clip.

You'll get a ghosting effect since it is sampling between two frames to get that new speed.

open the speed options window and uncheck that... you'll get a much different looking effect. It may not be the one you want, but there will be no artifacts or ghosting. Things might look a little choppier on slow mo.. but it should be ok if speeding it up in your case.

cheers,
