FCP quits on Capture...

Does anyone have an idea why FCP quits on capture? I logged all my shots with timecode and did a batch capture and it worked fine without quitting. I had to go back and add some extra clips and figured I would just use the CAPTURE NOW option and everytime I do it, FCP quits. I used Capture now to import all the clips on my first project with no problems. My HD is not used up. I still have plenty of space left. I just have been noticing that FCP has been quitting a lot lately. Is there something I can check out to see why that is?

Re: FCP quits on Capture...

If I trash the preferences will that mess up a project that I am about to start editing? I mean I just imported 9 pages of clips yesterday using a batch capture. I ran into problems when I had to capture a few clips using the capture now option.

Re: FCP quits on Capture...

Hi,
Trashing the preferences won't effect your project file or the clips you have already captured. You may have to reset your User Preferences (you know, length of a still frame, when auto-render starts, junk like that) and capture settings and stuff. It just makes it like you just opened the program for the first time. I have done it a couple of times and it has fixed the problem I had. I don't really remember what those problems were so I don't know if it will fix your problem. But it is worth try. It never messed up my stuff. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.
;D
