I keep hearing people on this forum discuss ways that they use photoshop to achieve some effect for their movies. How exactly is this done? I was never aware that adobe photoshop could be used with video footage. Thanks guys,

Chris

A lot of people including my self use it for graphics, titles, and pictures. Works good for creating alphas and the like.

It is possible to add compositing effects to video in Photoshop sort of like if you would if you were using Shake or After Effects. The problem is, however, that Photoshop is not designed for these kinds of tasks, and performing work on lengthy shots becomes problematic as there is no easy way to automate the effects or undo what's already been done and saved.

Most people use Photoshop for creating titles, graphics, and other mostly static elements, or elements which will then become a part of more complex animations/FX performed in After FX or Apple Motion.
