FCP P2 and XDCAM EX problem

I am having issues with the log and transfer tool in FCP 6.05
I can transfer straight off the card using log and transfer, but if I transfer the card to the desktop and then try and use log and transfer it doesn't work.

Is anyone else running into this problem?

Same issue with my XDCAM EX footage, I can use sonys program to transfer but FCP log and transfer is a no go.

It costs some money, but try ShotPut. Time tested and proven... P2 and XDCamEX file structures are quite finicky, I haven't heard any complaints about ShotPut, and its a good way to backup the original card data, sort of making a carbon copy, before FCP transcodes it.
 
XDCAM Transfer is the program you are looking for. I believe it's free... It works both as a Plug-in for capturing into FCP, as well as being a stand-alone program that "unwraps" your BPAV files so that they can be played in Quicktime.
 
I Use Sony's Clip Browser first to import the EX's BPAV folder into a new project folder. Then I import into FC via Sony's XDcam transfer software.
