FCP or FCP X -- Whats the difference ??

I have been on FCP 6 for 4 years and just bought a new mac....I cant find my FCP 6 disk and wanted to ask those of you that have used both FCP and FCP X
whats the pros vs cons ..If any
 
X is a completely new animal, and while it can really be great for some types of projects, it lacks certain features for others.

I use FCP 7 full-time and have played around with FCPX for a few projects. If you are willing to forget everything you have learned about using Final Cut, X could be a good upgrade for you. It has some well designed features that can save a ton of time and especially dealing with shaky, jello DSLR footage I've found it to be greatly superior. On the other hand, if you share projects with others, want to import your old projects or have plugins that you rely on you can pretty much forget FCPX for the foreseeable future. I'd download the free trial and watch some "Transitioning to Final Cut X from Final Cut Studio" videos. If I recall Lynda.com has an excellent series covering exactly that.
