FCP on MAC emulator?

Ok, i wanted to get familiar with FCP for a future project but i dont have a mac. apparently there's no FCP for pc, as far as i understand.

so i was wondering how it would be to run it on a mac OS emulation on a pc. would it work reasonably good enough to allow me to understand the basic operations and get familiar with it? that's my only purpose for the moment.

in case, which emulator should i use? (another thing im not familiar with.. )

thx

Its much easier to run WinXp on an intel mac then it is to run OSX on a PC.

Why don't you go into an apple store and just try it there..they won't mind.

If you're going to spend the money on the Final Cut Suite, you should just make the investment into getting a Mac then. You'll have a lot less headaches to deal with and a great editing box for yourself/company. If you're trying to emulate with a pirated version of the program, well frankly I can't support that. And in the age of the Intel Mac and Bootcamp, I'd again recommend getting a Mac and doing it up that way. And if you really want to hold onto Windows things, then use Bootcamp and transfer over your WinXP license to the Mac computer/hard drive and dual boot with the Mac.

However, if for your upcoming project, someone else is providing the editing suite for you, then you or they need to revisit the budget and get extra rental time on the editing suite. During which time you should go in with the Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro 5 book and the manuals. If you have a lot of NLE experience, you may only need a couple of extra days of rental (but definitely go in with the aforementioned book). Good luck.

cheers.

If you want to run an FCP emulator on the Mac, just run Premiere Pro. :D It sure seems like the two programs are cut from the same basic cloth...

Not to mention that FCP running in a Mac emulator on a PC would be so dog slow, you'd never get anything done. Except, maybe, go bald...

Considering Macs are now x86 based no emulation needs to take place, only virtualization. Just a nitpick...

No, there is no simple way to get OSX running on your PC.

I have heard on various grapevines that FCP doesn't work under emulation on PCs. Several people have tried and failed.

thanks A LOT everybody for the answers. all very relevant and useful.
I'll prob try to get some experience directly on a mac then. btw it's good to know that premiere pro (i've worked a lot with that) is structured in a very similar way.
