Ok i am trying to suppress freaking out. I just bought a close-out macbook pro (not one of the new releases). 2.5ghz 15 inch, 2 gig of ram. . . blah blah blah.

Ok... So i transfer my files/apps from my old powerbook to the new macbook pro. everything seems to work. THEN i go to click on the FCP icon and i get this message..

This Software requires a certains hardware or software that is missing. - AGP graphics Card.

Does anyone know what is going on here. I know there are troubles with the Nvidia 8600 card, which is what this is, is it possible this card is bad right out of the box?!

How did you do the transfer? I'd suggest reinstalling Final Cut Studio, it could be looking at your old prefs and getting confused being on the different hardware.

Also found this as a potential fix:

* Control-Click on the Final Cut Pro application and select show package contents.
* Open the contents folder and open info.plist.
* Search for AGP replace it with PCI.
* Save and close the file.
* Open FCP, and voila it works.
