FCP not showing correct info on my captured file

Hi,

I have recorded 24PA on a DVX100B
Captured from a Canon Optura S1 via firewire

I setup FCP correctly with the pulldown removal setting captured 1hr 45min of footage and then looked at my bin file info and the file says 29.97 not 23.98 as it should do.

Now when I look at my scratch disk and play the QT movie it says 24fps in the info page.

I then try to import this into a new FCP project thinking FCP would see it is 24fps but no it still shows up in FCP and 29.98.

Have I done something wrong using another camera as a deck?
I don't want to use my DVX for capturing really (want to save on the hrs meter and heads)

How come it shows 24fps in QT but not in FCP?

and it is all out of sync with the audio ONLY in FCP.... again playback in QT is perfect.

Restart and repair permissions didn't fix it.

i've had this problem too, final cut reads it as 29.97 but cinema tools or quicktime read it as 23.98. I captured using a Sony HDV deck, so I figured that it's just because it's a Sony. Had to resort to using the DVX to capture and haven't had any problems. I know people use Canon cams for capturing, but I'm not sure about which ones.

You can always use the clips in a 24p timeline, you'll just have to render. So you have to figure out which is better, saving render time or saving your DVX heads.
