FCP not seeing my deck all of the sudden!

I went to import some footage into FCP today and I kept getting messages that said my Video Deck was unrecognizable! I checked all my settings to make sure I didnt deselect something and everything is how I left it on my last project.

I thought maybe my Firewire cable went bad so I hooked up another cable and got the same message.

This all happened on my Desktop (Powermac G5)

I then switched the cable to my Macbook Pro laptop and got the same message on that too. But after I turned the Power of the deck off and then back on did FCP finally see the deck and I was able to import my footage as normal.

As for the desktop, I am not sure why its not seeing it all of the sudden on there.

Has this happened to anyone else on here?
 
well technically its not a DECK, deck!!! For now, I use the Sony GVD1000 to import footage. I will get a real deck sometime next year when I upgrade to HD.
