I recently upgraded to OS X 10.4 Tiger. I have been using a cheap-o Panasonic PV-GS29 for all of my capturing needs in Final Cut Pro (ver. 5) up until now without a problem, but today, I noticed I could not get a preview in the Log and Capture window, and I encountered an error trying to capture footage.
I first realized something was wrong when I tried to use my camcorder (as a webcam) in Skype. It did not detect the camera was plugged in via Firewire. I then opened QuickTime and could not capture anything, either.
It seems that no applications are detecting that my camera is actually plugged in.
Any ideas?
(I am updating my OS as we speak - perhaps that will alleviate a potential bug?)
