Sorry if I am missing something obvious here, but I have searched the forums quite a bit and can’t seem to figure out what I am doing wrong here.
I have a bunch of footage I shot on HVX200 at 1080i/24pa. I am attempting to use “Log & Transfer” to import it with Final Cut Pro 6. In the Log & Transfer window I click the gear icon, go to preferences and check “Remove Advance Pulldown and Duplicate Frames”. However, any footage imported shows up in my bin as 29.97 for the frame rate. I know the source footage was show in the correct mode since Log & Transfer shows the shooting rate as 24 and pulldown as 2:3:3:2.
Once the footage is in my bin, I can click on a clip and go to Tools -> Remove Advance Pulldown. This seems to work fine (it shows the checking cadence dialog and then I end up with a 23.98 fps clip in my bin). Problem is, if I selected a bunch of clips I imported and do Tools -> Remove Advance Pulldown, they all seem to go through the remove pulldown process fine but then half of them are marked as disconnected. The only way I can seem to reconnect them is individually. I’m really curious as to what that is all about but if I can just get FCP to remove the pulldown on the initial import then I really don’t care about the rest.
Any thoughts? I’m guessing I’m just overlooking something here.
